1989-1993
The $3.2 million renovation of the historic Flavia Hall included restoration of the exterior wall and roofing as well as renovation and remodel of the interior spaces with the goal of maintaining the historic integrity of the building. The work was undertaken in three construction phases over several years and involved the following:
- Master Plan Evaluation for the entire building
- Brick restoration including replacement, tuck pointing, cleaning and sealing
- A complete new roofing system including all new flashing and gutters
- ADA accessible entrances and parking
- Adding an internal elevator and new accessible restroom facilities
- Repainted and repairing original wood windows and woodwork
- Designing a cupola for above the elevator
- Extensive remodel for the “state of the art” science labs including and addition to the existing building to provide adequate square footage
- Renovation to the original entry and formal “salon” gathering areas to reflect the originally constructed appearances while providing required fire detection and life-safety improvements
- Renovation of the two story wing of offices
